Conventions of Film Magazine Front Covers
Codes and convention of film posters tend to stay generally the same no matter what genre they are advertising, the typical conventions include, the obvious title of the magazine in large font at the top of the page, eye catching buzz words such as FREE and NEW are essential in making the audience more attracted to the magazine. Information is all over the magazine such as anchorage text which overlaps the image, this gives the magazine a neat and sophisticated look, there is also the essential information such as barcode, date and issue number these details tend to be small. Conventions which differ depending on the genre are the colour scheme as certain colours connote certain moods. Also the banner of the magazine which tells you about what can be found inside and finally and properly the most attention grabbing, what image is on the front, this tends to be big a interesting image which sometimes overlaps the title.
