Conventions of Film Poster - Action

Action Film Poster Conventions

From the picture above it is clear that blue, black and red tend to be the typical colour used on the front of an action film poster as they connote heroism, mystery and violence which are all aspects of this genre, typically on the front there is a good looking, in shape male which male audiences hope to look like and female audience hope to have. Although recently women are starting to become more than a person who needs the males help in films, there are becoming more developed characters therefore will appear more on the front of the posters, such as iron man although she isn't the biggest person on the front, she still holds authority. Another convention is the use of weapons on the front of the poster this is to show the audience is it an action film and that violence will be in the film. The background of the posters tend to have a city or a recognisable area in the background so the audiences can relate to the location. Finally, The film title much like every other genre are clear to see and vary in colour but typically in gold and silver colours.
