Romance Genre - Audience Research
- Females tend to be the most popular target audience for romance films, as they love watching a love story, imagining themselves in the film as every girl dreams of loving the "perfect guy" which romance genre usually delivers. Although men would sometimes be forced to see a romance film for example a first date to create a mood, if it was up to them many would not choose to watch a romance film, generally men tend to be more interested in action films.
- The age bracket for a romance is teen girls and young women who are still chasing the idea of perfect love, whereas older audiences no longer are interested in lovey dovey films and instead prefer a light hearted comedy.
